Effective safeguarding training should not just identify who to report to if a disclosure is made – but it should train how to identify a danger, indicators of abuse, and unsafe behaviours. Safeguard training is essential for all who work with young people.
Learning to read behaviours, knowledge of local issues, and creating an environment where children can communicate their fears and anxieties, along with effective reporting systems can help to safeguard the vulnerable, and identify those subject to neglect and abuse. Knowledge is key.
